Navigating Keratoconus
Consider this a follow-up to my diagnosis post here.
General feel
My eyes feel weird. They are prone to stinging, or just feeling very dry most of the time. I feel like they have got worse still from my previous appointments. Before all this nonsense, I could feasibly use my computer without glasses, but now I'm presented with something like this:

I would say it's slightly worse than this, because it's almost as if it varies per blink, and I have a difficult time bringing the text into focus. With glasses, it's maybe like half as bad as this? I probably need contact lenses to fix it at this point.
It just sucks how much my vision has degraded in such a short period of time. I guess there isn't really anything I can do about it now, but it makes me a little sad still.
No more eye-rubbing
This shit fucking sucks, man. I never realised just how much I used eye-rubbing as a form of relief until I was told I could no longer do it. Though, eye-rubbing is probably a large reason of why I ended up developing the condition in the first place. Eye drops do work though, and the relief is immense, but I am still struggling a lot with it.
Video games
I play games every day, and I've found myself struggling more with playing games. I've been playing lots of Dead By Daylight lately, and I've noticed I have a way harder time picking out survivors from the background, or killers/details in general. Playing games on my Nintendo Switch 2 is a bit easier, even without my glasses on, since I can bring the screen real close.
I also heard people saying that playing Switch 1 games on the Switch 2 screen wasn't ideal, as it stretches it out to a larger screen, but for me, it's been the opposite, as the larger text on screen has made reading way easier.
Eye strain
I've never found it so difficult to stay awake for long periods until this past month or so. My eyes just fucking hurt all the time! And they get tired way faster from all the straining I have to do. Maybe that's where eye-rubbing gave me some kind of relief.
I have another appointment this month, I'll follow up on how it goes.
